Erdenechuluun - Mongolia
Change Through the Arts
|
One friend of mine came and told me to do a cartoon movie. I also thought I could do it. That friend of mine said that there would be an art composer youth meeting in the city and that my work was needed there. I told him I could not make it. Then, one day, that friend of mine came to me with one young man from our Nalaikh. That young man came to me and said, “Erdenechuluun, I want to show you something, think about it very carefully. I am participating in such activities,” and he showed me a brown paper full of criticism, I saw it was full of writing about MPRP [Mongolian People’s Republic Party] leadership, such and such things, and how human rights and freedom are closed, so there were all the things written. It said our Mongolia was under one-party leadership and we need to change this governance. And when I saw it, my belief became the same and the only thing mentioned there was patriotic ideology. From then on I thought “this is wrong” and decided to meet with these comrades. Then I told them I supported this and asked how I should participate. They said that this was not an open thing, this was going on secretly. They asked me if I could make an imprint with one soyombo [Mongolian national symbol] and I told I would try.
